Simon has established himself as an up and coming film composer in Toronto's flourishing film industry. His music can be heard in films, documentaries, commercials, web series and T.V.
He has contributed work on many projects that have screened at major film festivals including TIFF, Hot Docs and The Montreal World Film Festival amongst others.
In 2013, he began apprenticing under esteemed Toronto based composer Todor Kobakov (Bitten, The Samaritan, The Husband). Through his apprenticeship he has had the opportunity to work on many projects including: the Space T.V. series Bitten, CTV's Cardinal, BET's Madiba, CBC's The Nature of Things and several feature films last year including Per Fly's Backstabbing For Beginners (Starring Ben Kingsley and Theo James).
Recently, he scored Hunting Pignut, a feature film written and directed by Martine Blue starring Taylor Hickson (Deadpool, Blackway) and Joel Hynes (Republic of Doyle).
Through his apprenticeship he has also had the opportunity to work for some of Canada's most prolific artists including Metric, K-OS, Dan Mangan, Whitehorse, Mocky and Lights amongst others.
He has also established himself as a Music Editor with credits including A Family Man (Gerard Butler, Alison Brie, Willem Dafoe) and Army Of One (Nicholas Cage, Russell Brand).
Always looking to further develop his craft, Simon was one of nine composers chosen internationally to participate in the prestigious 2014 BMI Film Composers Workshop in NYC directed by composer Rick Baitz and sponsored through BMI. Simon has a Bachelor's Of Music through Humber College and is currently completing his MA Thesis in composition at York University.
